Some of you may not know, but sweets and cupcakes are some of my favorite things!   Cupcakes for weddings are especially fun!  Today, cupcakes are taking their place as the preferred dessert over wedding cakes.

Reasons for Cupcakes Over Wedding Cakes

Wedding cakes have lost some of their importance in weddings.  Some brides  have replaced wedding cakes with  ornate dessert tables, cupcakes and candy tables.

Cupcakes for weddings have become very ornate themselves.  The decorations on cupcakes can be very elaborate or simple.

Cupcakes for weddings give you many flavors where as wedding cakes can only give you 2 or 3 flavors.

If you use cupcakes instead of a wedding cake, you also do not have to hire anyone to cut the cake during your wedding reception.

The Cupcake Couture

I was in Del Ray Beach Florida this November.  I found this lovely cupcake bakery called the Cupcake Couture.

It not only had delicious and wonderfully decorated cupcakes, but also had wonderful candies and even ice cream.  This bakery was very festive and decorated just as a cupcake/candy store should be decorated.  It was very inviting and you could feel sugar overload just by walking into the store.

The names of the cupcakes were as creative as the cupcakes were delicious.  With names like Oscar de la Raspberry, Berry Wang, and Cocoa Channel who couldn’t resist.   We succumbed to the temptation without even trying to put up a fight.
